The Database of the Nippon Connection Film Festival

In our database NIPPON ARCHIVE we have catalogued every movie we have screened since the first edition of our festival in 2000. Through the project NIPPON ARCHIVE we want to permanently document our years-long work and make it accessible to everyone.

In the database you can research film titles, people and companies. Furthermore, a text search allows you to search through English and German film descriptions and biographies of the directors. Asian surnames are spelled in all caps in our database. We use the modified Hepburn romanization for transcription of Japanese words, but in order to simplify it, we do not use elongation marks.
